HEARTS Project Results

The HEARTS project – Harnessing Digital and AI Tools for the Mental Health of Youth – aims to strengthen the capacity of youth workers to support young people’s mental well-being in an increasingly digital world.

Through international cooperation, research, training activities, and local workshops, the project developed practical resources that help youth workers understand, select, and safely use digital and AI-based tools in their work with young people.

The main outcome of the project is a comprehensive practical toolkit designed to support youth workers, educators, and youth organisations in integrating digital mental health approaches into youth work. The toolkit combines research insights, practical guidance, training materials, workshop models, and ready-to-use templates.

Practical Toolkit for Youth Workers

cover

The HEARTS Toolkit is the main intellectual outcome of the project and provides youth workers with practical guidance on using digital and AI tools to support the mental health and emotional well-being of young people.

The toolkit combines research findings, practical methodologies, and ready-to-use educational resources developed during the project. It is designed to help youth workers better understand the opportunities and risks of digital technologies in the context of youth mental health.

The toolkit includes:

• an overview of digital and AI tools relevant for youth work
• guidance on selecting and using tools responsibly and safely
• training modules for youth workers
• workshop models for working with young people
• worksheets, templates, and educational materials
• monitoring and evaluation tools
• guidance on inclusion, accessibility, and ethical use of digital tools

The resource is intended for youth workers, educators, youth organisations, and trainers who wish to integrate digital approaches into mental health support activities for young people.

The toolkit can be used in youth centres, schools, non-formal education programmes, and youth projects.
